Dear Nutritionist,

The January issue of the Journal of Nutrition will be available January 3. It is reserved for subscribers.

No to holiday pounds.

If you're like most adults, you probably gained a little weight over the holidays. But do you know that weight is here to stay? In fact, it accounts for most of the weight accumulated each year by an adult. To avoid this, the dieticians at LaNutrition have concocted a 7-day slimming program combining intermittent fasting and low glycemic load menus, with many tasty recipes. Discover the holiday weight reduction program on page 32.

22, here comes 2022!

With less weight, what better way to start the year 2022 than… 22 good resolutions? The ones we offer are easy to hold. Above all, they will be good for your body and your soul. For example, adopt these 8 small food steps that will put you on the path to more radical changes. Or introduce a wellness routine when you wake up, green and cleanse your home by choosing one of the ten detoxifying plants. The 22 health and well-being resolutions are on page 20.

The worst in the supermarket (but well rated by the Nutri-Score)

Your favorite health site was the first, in 2015, to talk about ultra-processed foods, and warn about their invasive presence. In this issue, Dr. Anthony Fardet, European researcher and specialist in these industrial foods, explains how they harm health, but also the planet. You will know how to identify them, and we present to you an anthology of the "worst foods in the supermarket", heads of the shelves for the most part well rated by the Nutri-Score and the Yuka application, but in reality ultra-processed so that it is best to limit in its diet. Demonstration that nothing replaces the decryption of compositions, as we do regularly.

Hypersensitive, take care of yourself...

January 13 is National Hypersensitivity Day. On this occasion, discover the main features of this temperament which concerns 30% of the population. To find out if you are hypersensitive, take the test on page 44; you will also know how to live well when you have inherited this personality, with advice based on science, but also on testimonials.

Also in this issue

What were the most significant discoveries of 2021? On page 4, the editorial staff has selected several studies among those that counted last year.

Potassium is a forgotten mineral. But there are at least 10 reasons to consume more (and know the best sources). It should be read on page 40.

Dr Fabrice Kühn and Daniel Hugues, doctors and triathletes, suggest on page 48 how to get back to training, but first go to the kitchen, with 4 special endurance recipes, good for performance and recovery.

Happy reading and we wish you good health!
